There are four towns in Quezon that celebrate the feast of San Isidro Labrador, the patron saint of farmers, every May 15th — Lucban, Sariaya, Gumaca, Tayabas. There is still another festival celebrated in May after the feast of San Isidro Labrador, the Pasayahan sa Lucena.
Pahiyas Festival in Lucban
This is one of the most popular and most colorful festivals not just in the province but in the rest of the country as well. The whole of Lucban is decorated by kiping, fruits, vegetables, flowers, rice grains, etc. The highlight of the festivities is the religious procession for San Isidro Labrador.
Agawan Festival in Sariaya
Agawan Festival is almost the same as the celebration of the Pahiyas Festival without the kiping.
Balwarte sa Gumaca
The town folks decorate arches or balwarte with agricultural products as vegetables and fruits. The products are pulled from the balwarte once the icon of San Isidro Labrador passes by during the procession.
