Two Cooperatives in Quezon Province to Receive Livelihood Check from DOLE

LUCENA CITY, Quezon, Feb 4 (PIA) — The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)-Quezon will award livelihood checks to Masco farmers marketing cooperative in Lopez and Pinagdalayan multi-purpose cooperative in Dolores.

Masco farmers marketing cooperative, is set to receive a check worth P401,000 from DOLE-Quezon this week. According to Ohmar Lorena, labor officer 1 of DOLE-Quezon, the fund to be received by the farmers will be intended for palay production and trading.

The farmers plan to purchase fertilizers and knapsack sprayer to be used for rice production through the livelihood check.

DOLE-Quezon will also turn-over a livelihood check amounting to P233,680 to Pinagdalayan multi-purpose cooperative which is intended for expansion of “tahian sa kooperatiba,” a livelihood project of said cooperative which is composed of 198 member beneficiaries.

The cooperative meanwhile plans to purchase sewing machines and other materials to be used for the livelihood project.

Prior to the formal turn-over of the livelihood checks to the beneficiaries, the two cooperatives have already submitted their project proposal to DOLE-Quezon for further evaluation and approval. (JL/RMO-PIA4A Quezon)
